Daunia (Nia) calls herself an “artistic food creator”. She loves to combine her passions for cooking and art to create new recipes and meal ‘experiences’ that go beyond the food to stimulate all five senses. For Daunia, food is the best form of art for this reason, and the plate is her canvas.
Her passion for cooking started when she was three years old when Nonna Pierina put a wooden spoon in her hand with the important task of licking it. And from that point she was hooked. While following her grandmother around the kitchen, Daunia learned not just to cook, but also how to combine flavours and create amazing aromas. From her godmother Donata, who was passionate about desserts, Daunia learned all her secrets of French and German pastry.
Daunia has also been teaching cooking classes for 8 years.
Today she welcomes you into her store in the heart of beautiful Cochrane.
